Sewing for Support Hope Africa

It's Journey Groups time again at Gateway Community Church!

During this semester of Journey Groups our small group will be sewing garments for the children for the Elpis Ministries, Support Hope Africa.  Their mission from their Facebook page is: "to continually grow in intimacy with Christ, obedient and reflecting His presence to all, in particular, the people of Uganda, so they too will seek God with all their heart, finding in Christ all they need and loving each other as Christ loved them. (Philippians 3:10, John 15:9-17, Matthew 22:37, Philippians 4:19, Luke 10:25-37, Matthew 28:19-20)

Elpis Ministries International provides education, medical care, food, clothing and housing support for more than 140 children at Hope Children's Home in Iganga, Uganda.

Elpis Ministries International is a 501c3 non-profit organization registered with the IRS and the State of Texas. All donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated by our children and staff." Please visit their website to see their larger specific needs or to sponsor a child.
Our Journey Group will sew pillowcase dresses and shorts for the residents of Hope Children's Home. Participants in the  Journey Group do not need sewing experience, just enthusiasm and a willingness to do what is needed. Children are welcome if they are accompanied by a supervising adult. Specific details about the structure of the group will be communicated in emails to participants.
We will happily accept donations of kid friendly fabrics, sewing supplies and usable machines. To coordinate collection of donated supplies or ask questions about the group please email me here
